While attending a family event at the couple’s alma mater, Bethany Lutheran College, Elise Browne’s grandmother was the first to spot Nick Ollrich and pick him out to be Elise’s future husband. After her grandmother’s comments, Elise started seeing Nick everywhere around campus, and soon enough, he asked her out for coffee. “A year and a half later we were married,” Elise says. “Nana knows best!” The couple had always dreamed of getting married outdoors in the fall, and they sought a venue that would highlight the splendor of a Minnesota autumn. “While walking through rows of apple trees at Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard, we knew we had found the perfect spot,” she says. They wed amid the fall foliage and strolled over to the property’s big red barn for the reception. The entire day was a labor of love, with the bride and creative friends and family working together on everything from invitations to centerpieces to a self-serve craft beer bar. “We still marvel at the support we received,” says Elise.
