Maya Sanaba and Sam Hebeisen joyfully celebrated their nuptials with two ceremonies at The Essence Event Center. The two met in their sophomore year at Purdue University, with Maya studying to be a lawyer, and Sam, an engineer. To honor both of their cultures and religions, the couple began their special day with a traditional Hindu ceremony followed by a Christian ceremony. The Hindu ceremony was adorned with vibrant marigolds and jasmine, reminiscent of the flowers Maya remembered from her grandmother's garden. The modern yet timeless floral arrangements featured peonies and ranunculus, beautifully complemented by whimsical marigolds, snapdragons and soft greenery. As Maya and Sam changed in between ceremonies, guests enjoyed a social hour complete with food, music, a personalized couple crossword and a live fashion illustrator. The bride and groom carefully selected the officiants for both ceremonies, choosing a South Indian Kannadiga priest to perform the Hindu ceremony and a pastor from Sam’s childhood church to perform the Christian ceremony. Their joyful celebration was full of love, highlighted by heartfelt vows, dancing with friends and family, and the couple’s puppy, Walnut, bringing their rings to the altar.
