High school sweethearts Kelyn Johnson and Andrew Christianson tied the knot in a beautiful summer wedding at Detroit Mountain Recreation Area. Warm floral arrangements colored the grassy landscape with beautiful shades of purple, orange, blue and blush. The deep navy hue of the groomsmen’s attire and the soft purple bridesmaid dresses perfectly complemented the bride’s elegant lace dress and groom's custom maroon suit. Honoring both of their families, Kelyn and Andrew included several meaningful details and heirlooms in their special day. During the ceremony, Kelyn’s cousin read scripture, and her sister sang a touching rendition of the song “Sweet Symphony.” Her brother hand-painted the seating chart and table cards for the reception, each showcasing a place the couple has traveled to. They even included stories from their travels on the back of the cards, giving guests a glimpse into their love story. Andrew’s mother and sister hand-crafted the welcome and bar signage, including old wedding photos of parents and grandparents. Both the bride and groom received “something borrowed” with cherished relics such as glassware from Kelyn’s grandmother and Andrew’s tie clip and diamonds passed down from his grandfather. The day was truly one to remember as a celebration of love and family.
