Minnesota Bride Spring Summer 2025

After 10 years together, Penny Xiong and Mike Yang tied the knot in style at Mosaic Venue in Minneapolis. The two first met in 2012 at the Hmong Freedom Festival in St. Paul, and it was admittedly not love at first sight. A few months later, they reconnected at a sports tournament in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where Penny challenged Mike to a drinking contest at a nightclub. Mike accepted, of course, and won the competition. Little did he know then that he had also won over the love of his life. After a fun night, Penny went back home to Michigan and Mike left for Minnesota, but they continued their relationship despite the distance. Many Skype dates later, the couple made it official with a vibey, joyous wedding featuring delicious Asian food, endless drinks and various late-night snacks. As for the theme, it was Penny’s vision to have elegant, classic design elements that would wow guests as they arrived. Their simple color scheme was a perfect foundation for the glow sticks and other special effects included that night. Penny and Mike celebrated their love the best way they know how—by having fun!
