From the photographer:
Kristi is originally from Michigan, but Jerad and Kristi decided to hold their wedding in MN so that Kristi's family and friends could experience the beautiful state that she has learned to call home. Since half of their guests would be traveling from out of state, convenience and location was everything. Downtown Minneapolis was a no-brainer. When they walked into Nicollet Island Pavilion, nestled on the Mississippi river with gorgeous city views - it was love at first sight. The ceremony was held on the paved courtyard outside of the pavilion. White lighted sheers were added inside the outdoor tent where cocktail hour was held. To keep it light inside, cafe lights were strung and white linens were used. The tables were accented with lanterns of varying heights and simple bud vases.
To play up the historic nature of the venue, rustic wooden elements were added. What they couldn't DIY, they bought on Etsy. Instead of traditional "colors", they decided to use neutral blush, cream, blue and grey tones. The bridesmaids each chose a dress they loved in varying shades of blush. Seeing all the dresses come together the day of the wedding was so fun! And since the wedding was held outdoors in August, they decided to forego suit coats for the groomsmen. Minnesota weather is unpredictable at best, but it ended up being a beautiful summer day. It was wonderfully overwhelming seeing all of Kristi and Jerad's family and friends celebrate their most special day that was built on love.
