Minnesota Bride Spring Summer 2025

On an idyllic sun-drenched day in June, Gabrielle Chesney and Kirk Carter’s wedding day began with a welcome glass of sparkling wine from a Prosecco bike perched outside of The Bakken Museum. Before the ceremony began, the bride’s father played an original song he wrote for the occasion while each person in attendance was invited to hold Gabby and Kirk’s wedding bands in a “ring warming ceremony,” wishing them well for their future together. After a tender exchange of vows swathed in light and playful pastel florals, the party moved to The Copper Hen for dinner and dancing—an idea inspired by the bride’s parents’ restaurant wedding 44 years prior. The evening was jam-packed with these ultra-intentional personal touches—from the food choices and custom cocktails reflecting their upbringing in different areas of the country, to notes handwritten to each of the guests and custom stationery from the groom’s father’s printing press, their wedding was uniquely their own. Reflecting upon their day, Gabby was proud of their intentionality, saying that “If you stay grounded in making decisions based on things you love and hold dear to you as a couple, your wedding will be timeless and beautiful to you no matter how the tides of trends change.”
