A bold citrus-inspired wedding day at Glass House was the perfect way to celebrate vibrant couple Sara Bustad and Hannah Detra. After meeting on a dating app in 2020, Sara and Hannah’s connection endured the challenges of COVID-19, allowing them to grow closer as a couple, resulting in a shared home and two cats. Sara’s proposal was a charming surprise to Hannah, who was expecting to attend a holiday work party. Instead, Hannah was greeted with a cozy, intimate proposal at her aunt’s art studio after being tricked by her mom into “helping move an art piece.” The subsequent “work party” came as another surprise, as it was an engagement party filled with the couple’s closest family and friends. Their wedding was boldly unique, featuring custom matchboxes, a pickleball tournament instead of a rehearsal dinner, and many espresso martinis. On the big day, they opted for no wedding party, spending the entire morning side-by-side accompanied by their closest friends and family. The ceremony was simple and bright, including red and orange arches and colorful florals at the top of the steps where they married. A color-blocked theme was achieved at each reception table, with fresh fruits and florals to enhance and add dimension to the design. After eating dinner from the pasta and taco stations, the newlyweds and their guests danced the night away, with the help of a few more espresso martinis.
