Wedding: July 22, 2017
Ceremony & reception: Round Barn Farm, Red Wing
Honeymoon: Croatia
Kendall Mark and Jordan Kolinski’s wedding set a romantic scene, with the Round Barn Farm near Kendall’s childhood home as backdrop. It was important for her to bring family and friends together in the place where she grew up, and the venue also embodied the natural world, which Kendall and Jordan both love. Not long after they met at a rooftop bar in Minneapolis, the couple embarked on a camping trip in the Boundary Waters, and got engaged while camping at Yosemite National Park.
At the Round Barn, amid tall trees and green pastures, charming touches abounded: wicker chairs, antique velvet couches, teacups and vintage guest books. Many were heirlooms that had been collected by women in Kendall’s family and passed down through the generations. Those were not the only family elements in the day. Kendall’s father, a judge, initially hesitated to marry the couple, but close to the wedding he had a change of heart.
He walked his daughter down a grass aisle covered in rose petals, then officiated beneath a blooming arbor built by Jordan’s father. While the father of the bride kept his emotions in check throughout the wedding day, his daughter and son-in-law were not quite as composed. Tears sprang to Kendall’s eyes as she shared a first dance with her husband, while a rush of emotion overwhelmed Jordan during the first look, when he laid eyes on his bride and thought of the happy moment and the years ahead.
