Catherine Lavin and Harry Hopkins may have met and fallen in love with the Rocky Mountains on the horizon (they lived next door to each other at a University of Colorado dorm), but they hosted their wedding in the heart of Minneapolis’ urban landscape. They chose the Calhoun Beach Club as their setting because of the gorgeous lake views and the flexible event space. Thanks to the venue’s pristine white backdrop, the couple was able to do anything their hearts desired when it came to the décor theme. They opted for an orange and gray color scheme and lots of little details they loved. Planner Sally Berry brought everything together, including a delectable dessert bar from Cocoa & Fig. “The highlight was being surrounded by everyone we love,” says Catherine. “It was so much fun seeing family and friends from all over the country.”
