Cara & Laura: An Urban, Yet Rustic, Mill City Museum Wedding in Minneapolis

Although Laura Edwards and Cara Lucas hit it off when they first met eight years ago, it would take some time for them to make things official. It was a classic case of being in different stages of life, with Cara still in college and Laura in the working world. “When we finally did get together, we knew we were meant to be,” Cara says. They also knew they were meant to wed at the Mill City Museum. Offering the ideal blend of urban location with natural rustic elements, the venue also held significance as a place that was special to the couple; they would often pedal past it on long bike rides. “We would take breaks and lay on the grassy knoll next to it,” Cara says of the museum, “staring at the Mississippi and talking about our future.” As Laura is an airline pilot, travel is a big part of their lives, so they wove a vintage travel theme into their wedding décor via signage and luggage bag tag escort cards.
