Showing off the Twin Cities to out-of-towners isn’t just a local couple’s duty, it’s a pleasure when you have neighborhoods as vibrant as the North Loop and venues as dapper as the brand-new Hewing Hotel.
The Hewing, which opened late last year, is housed in the North Loop’s historic Jackson building. Operating with the “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy, the space retains its original cream brick walls and pine beams throughout. (Not to worry: amenities have been updated from the building’s 1897 roots and are everything you’d expect from a modern, on-trend hotel.)
“The North Loop is the perfect location for the Hewing Hotel, as it’s becoming a thriving neighborhood,” says Krista Dreves, senior sales manager. “We are looking to add a new place for locals and guests from out of town to gather and have a true Minneapolis experience.”
Besides the industrial-cool feel, the Hewing boasts a seasonally focused restaurant, rooftop sauna and killer deck. For weddings, the Andrews Ballroom is the spot for larger events (it holds 176 for a seated dinner or 250 for a more casual celebration), featuring majestic crystal chandeliers and even more majestic views.
Partnerships with local culinary stars like Spyhouse Coffee, Tattersall Distillery and Bauhaus Brew Labs add to the hotel’s spirit of hometown pride. So go ahead: Be a show-off.
The happening North Loop gets even hotter with the opening of Hewing Hotel.
