“The goal was to be the most Instagrammable wedding venue in Minnesota,” says Aimee Jobe, owner of Luminary Fern, a new Brainerd Lakes venue.

To accomplish that, Jobe, who also founded the NP Event Space, restored the late-1800s Clocktower at Northern Pacific Center, with a focus on letting the light shine in (because any self-respecting Instagrammer knows that good lighting is everything). She replaced the boarded-up windows, created a modern entryway with 150-year-old doors, and whitewashed the ceiling, concrete floor and original brick walls to keep the brightness coming.

“Since it is a blank slate, it really can go any direction to reflect the couple’s style,” Jobe notes.

In addition to the dazzling indoor space, which seats 170 for dinner, 300 for ceremony, there are plenty of photogenic outdoor locations, too. A greenery-filled terrace and expansive courtyard are some of the larger ceremony options.

Luminary Fern’s on-site rentals include everything you need to for an ultra-charming wedding, from classic chandeliers to farmhouse tables to vintage furniture—all perfect backdrops for photos by the Insta-crowd.
