Sara Rezek and Brent Johnson had been friends for more than a decade before Sara got up the courage to ask Brent out on a date. Luckily, it didn’t take the couple nearly so long to decide on a wedding venue—they fell in love with the first spot they visited, Theodore Wirth Park and the Fireplace Room. “It had a really lovely lodge, rustic feel to it,” Sara says. “It was an easy choice that helped dictate other wedding details, from invitations to décor to apparel.” Sara thanks friends, family and Pinterest for helping with all of the DIY projects she took on for the big day. Using a palette of neutrals, golds and blushes, Sara and her crew created everything from stationery to signs to table numbers. “We could not have done it without a lot of help from our families,” Sara says.
