Megan Schuller had always dreamed of getting married on her grandparents’ century farm in Iowa, but when her grandpa passed away, she knew it just wouldn’t be the same without him. She and fiancé John Sandala decided on a wedding at Gibb’s Farm to try to recapture that magical feel. Megan went back to her grandparents’ farm and collected the mailbox for cards, various tins for flowers and windowpanes for their seating chart. Meanwhile, John curated the reception playlist and focused on the food, choosing pie over cake. “We would have pie, and we’d feel like hipsters for doing it, but who doesn’t love a good apple pie?” Megan says. “Our day was as much about us and our beautiful communities of support as we could squeeze into such a small window of time.”
