From the bride:
My vision for the wedding was rustic, romantic, elegant, and simple. Ultimately, Josh and I just loved the idea of having an outdoor wedding with plenty of space for our guests to roam and yard games to enjoy on a beautiful summer day. As soon as I found Mayowood, I fell in love with the Stone Barn and the beautiful old Oak tree, where our ceremony would be held. My Father, who is a retired pastor, officiated the ceremony for us, and he very eloquently related the tree and its great roots to being the foundation of a strong relationship and marriage.
After our ceremony guests were served cocktails in the blacksmith shop. Guests enjoyed chatting and sipping their drinks in the shade before moving into the Stone Barn for dinner where we had jazz music playing. Everyone dined on a wonderful meal provided by Canadian Honker while listening to our family members share memories of Josh and I. Afterwards guests and children were treated to cupcakes in lieu of a traditional wedding cake. Once the hot August weather cooled down everyone began to move outside to enjoy the fresh air and send Josh and I off to our honeymoon with a fun sparkler exit!
