Emily and Garret's wedding day in the open air of Minneapolis' Central Riverfront Park was full of joy and romance. Simple enough to really let the couple shine, the event is brimming with perfect pops of cute detailing. The bride's red bouquet is so bright and energetic, as are the rooftop photos of the happy couple. You can even spy a distant MPLS skyline in one of these shots.
The reception at 514 Studios is stunning and oh-so-unique. I am still in awe of the boxwood shillouettes cast on the wall, continuing the natural theme from the outdoor ceremony. The bold black and white striped tables are accented with bud vases in fun flashes of color from orange and chartreuse, to lilac and teal. I actually gasped when I came across the three photos in that library, the dreamiest of libraries. I simply adore the quirky, vibrant details that make up this fun-filled event. Oh and food trucks. Oh and cupcakes.
From the Bride:
We met at a dinner party and board game night held by mutual friends. We were the only two single people there so naturally we were paired off as a team for Cranium. I was blown away by his ability to spell “handkerchief” backwards without a moment’s hesitation. And he really loved my red dress.
Neither of us had any real pre-conceived vision of what our wedding should look like, which allowed us to create something that was truly us, through and through. We wanted our wedding to have a fun and light-hearted tone — something that was celebratory, personal, unassuming and like no other wedding we had been to. Garret’s early idea to incorporate food trucks served as the foundation for everything that came after. The concept was Quirky Garden Party and the decor featured lanterns, boxwood, beautiful red flowers, mason jar "chandeliers", black & white striped linens and tree gobos.
