Wedding: August 14, 2016
Honeymoon: Northern Minnesota
Elizabeth Noble and Kat Moore first met when Kat tagged along with a friend to Elizabeth’s birthday party at Icehouse restaurant in Minneapolis. Though Elizabeth wondered why a stranger had turned up at her birthday party, the two hit it off a month later when they were both hanging out at a mutual friend’s cabin. Kat popped the question during intermission at a Rose Ensemble concert while Elizabeth’s family serenaded them with “A New Day” by Céline Dion. For their wedding day, the couple wanted a timeless look of sentimental touches. Elizabeth’s bouquet and Kat’s boutonniere were accented with fresh ivy that Elizabeth’s mother had rooted from her own wedding bouquet 33 years ago. Elizabeth carried a hanky made from her baptismal bonnet and tucked an Irish five-pence coin into her shoe for good luck. A close family friend created all the heavenly flower arrangements at the reception, which overflowed with ivy, peonies, moss, ranunculus, sweet pea and garden roses. The ceremony included an Irish handfasting ritual, where the couple’s hands were bound together with gold cord. Both newlyweds said they could feel a profound shift in their relationship during the invocation as they vowed to spend their lives together.
