Honeymoon: Greek Islands

Ruwani Goonetilleke and Zach Sonnentag may have met in a very 21st-century way—on the dating app Bumble—but they incorporated a lot of tradition into their summer wedding. They exchanged vows at the church Ruwani’s family has attended for years and where she always dreamed of getting married. At the reception they incorporated some of Ruwani’s family’s Sri Lankan traditions, like lighting an oil lamp to signify the uniting of the two families and dancing to Balia music. “At the end of the evening I changed into a red sari, which is also known as a going-away sari. All of these elements helped to bring our family and friends together to celebrate our marriage and cultures joining,” Ruwani says. Choosing The Hutton House for the party just felt like fate. “We kind of stumbled upon the space and instantly fell in love with it,” Ruwani says. “The simple yet elegant venue was exactly what we had in mind.”
