When Alisha Walters met Addison Ellis at a Feed My Starving Children event, she left without knowing his last name. That night she tried to find him online, but gave up and went to bed. When she woke up the next day, she was excited to realize he’d been searching too. While she was sleeping, Addison “liked” a photo she posted on Instagram. Their online connection quickly turned into dating, and less than a year later he proposed during a fishing trip in northern Minnesota. The couple knew they wanted to get married outside, rain or shine, so they cleared a space in the woods on Addison’s family property. When the big day arrived, it rained right up until the ceremony. “It was a blessing. It just stopped and held out for the rest of the night,” says Alisha. Their guestbook was a map for people to share ideas about places the couple should travel. And for that weekend, at least, the newlyweds traveled in style. The bride had her heart set on renting a VW Bug, but they ended up driving a 356 Porsche Speedster instead. Not a bad way to start their next adventure.
