“A wedding is just a day, but a marriage is a lifetime.” That’s one of the themes that guided Sara Bielski and Francis Balogun as they celebrated their wedding. Another concept—“A unity of two families with different cultural backgrounds coming together as one”—was joyfully evident during their special day. The couple, who met through mutual acquaintances, brought friends and family together under blue skies and sunny smiles. “Our wedding day was a mix of American and Nigerian culture with a sprinkle of sophistication and a whole lot of fun!” Sara says. They found the “wow” factor they wanted at Ashery Lane Farm. The traditional wedding ceremony took place before a circular gold arbor festooned with pampas grass and floral garlands, with bouquets, centerpieces and bridal party clothing in autumn colors such as navy and maroon with blush, gold, and mustard yellow accents. Following the wedding dinner, the couple and their attendants changed into Nigerian attire and danced the night away.
