Marina Burandt and Tyler Barnes met when they were both 17 years old, dated, and attended their senior prom together. Then, in what seemed like the blink of an eye, wedding plans were in full swing. The couple knew they wanted to make the most of their big day and thought, What better date than the summer solstice? Not only would it provide the most sunlight, but the traditional element to midsummer was meaningful to Marina’s Swedish heritage. Other items fitting with the Swedish theme included soft pastel colors, flowers in the bridesmaids’ hair and dreamcatchers. Surrounded by their very best friends and beloved family members amid ferns and flowers, the two also participated in a Swedish handfasting ceremony that bound the couple's clasped hands together. Marina and Tyler may have thought they’d be the VIPs of their big day, but the couple’s two cats stole the show when they arrived for wedding photos.
