Pete Holthaus proposed to Brittney Mesenbrink on Thanksgiving in the house he’d spent a year and a half building for them. The couple’s reception took place at Brittney’s parents’ home, where the bride had grown up, and she’ll never forget the experience of watching the familiar backyard transform into “a fairy tale.” Their beloved dogs were celebrated at the wedding with signature cocktails in their names—the Winston (Captain Morgan rum, Coke and lime) and the Lucy (Arnie Palmer with pear vodka, mint leaves and a splash of soda). The dance party was kicked off by a huge confetti bomb, setting just the right celebratory tone. After dinner, hungry revelers were treated to kettle corn (Brittney’s favorite snack) cooked on-site, as well as homemade s’mores. Pete, who loves to dance, hardly left the floor the whole evening.
