Wedding Date: September 16, 2017
While most wedding day mornings start with mimosas and cushy robes far away from your partner, Nina and Karen shook off the jitters together with a brisk hike. This set the tone for the evening: an intimate gathering of family and friends stood amidst nature to see the two wed. A climbing rope was ceremoniously tied between the two to signify their special bond; it then became a focal point of the head table. The wedding party in easy grays and seafoam mirrored the water and its shore, carrying forth a breezy and calm façade. In keeping with non-tradition, a late-night baptism in the waters of Lake Superior came soon after the speeches. Then the party really ramped up with everyone out of their formal wear, onto beer pong and air guitar. The entire day was, as their photographer put it, “so very Nina and Karen.”
