Although Todd Checovich was born and raised in New England, it was important that he and his fiancée Tessa Hocum get married in Minneapolis. “It’s the city we call home,” says Tessa, who grew up in Minnesota and met Todd shortly after he arrived in the Midwest. Because they wanted their wedding to showcase everything they loved about the city, they chose Lake of Isles Lutheran Church for the small and intimate setting, and The Riverside Room in the Minneapolis Event Centers for its location and historic ambiance. To create a classic wedding with an organic aesthetic, they included greenery and earthy metallics alongside a mostly white palette with hints of muted spring colors. In a nod to their shared Midwest and East Coast connections, they welcomed guests with gift bags containing Fulton beer and escort cards made from New Hampshire birch trees. “Our day turned out more beautifully than we could have imagined, largely due to our incredible team of vendors, who turned our vision into reality,” says Tessa.
