More than ever, couples are prioritizing what matters most to them—whether it be a grand celebration with 400 people or an intimate gathering with their closest loved ones. In this case, Rachel Johnson of Rachel Leigh Photo decided to showcase an alternative wedding day for which intention and quality time were at the forefront. “This styled shoot was a focus on a bride who loves the elegant and extravagant things but also yearns for an intimate setting with people closest to the couple,” Johnson explains. Deciding to forgo tradition, the couple enjoyed a quiet morning together, lounging by the pool of a private estate and soaking in every moment with each other before festivities began. Influenced by the California coast mixed with natural elements, a cozy backyard wedding came to life. Cascading blooms atop pillars created a quaint ceremony spot. As a flawless display of laidback luxury, the table design featured a driftwood centerpiece, organic flower arrangements, white pebbles and candles with bouclé chairs. As a final ode to the untraditional, the couple used cups to “cut” into their artistic floral cake.
