"You are my beloved, and you are my friend." Tears welled up across the room as Safiyyah and Rory exchanged vows on a beautiful spring day during their wedding at Aria in Minneapolis. I was so honored to be present to photograph their amazing day down to the very last gorgeous detail. Aria is truly amazing. Safiyyah and Rory were very excited to spend plenty of time there making sure to capture gorgeous portraits throughout the magnificent art and architecture of the building. From the old spiral staircase, to the rich, elegant upstairs lounges, to the hidden alcoves, to the front lobby filled with spectacular crystal chandeliers, to all the unique modern art pieces scattered throughout the vintage structure, every facet is a photographer's dream.
Safiyyah + Rory are two of the sweetest, most down-to-earth people you will ever meet. The inspiration for their wedding was vintage French, rustic and romantic. Their colors were navy, gray, blush, gold and linen. They brought in vintage furniture for the front lobby/seating area as well as old wine barrels, crystal chandeliers and giant silver vases for the ceremony space. The florist excelled at creating a head table, bouquets and table florals that seemed to drip out of their containers. The bride had a gorgeous, vintage-inspired lace wedding gown and veil. Their dessert table had a twist - they brought in a full s'mores bar filled with graham crackers, tons of different chocolate options, and homemade custom marshmallows in flavors such as coconut and caramel, and featuring an elongated flame well for group marshmallow toasting. The line for the s'mores bar was rarely empty! And it was followed up with a s'mores kit in a jar. Safiyyah and Rory's Aria wedding was truly spectacular!
