Honeymoon: France and Italy (first anniversary)
After almost nine years together, a puppy, a house, and another puppy, Andrew Kraabel surprised his sweetheart Lindsey Getchell with a romantic proposal in New York City on a family vacation. The fall wedding they imagined sprang to life when they chose Day Block as their venue. Guests were invited to arrive early so they could enjoy a beer or craft cocktail during the ceremony (the building houses its namesake brewery on the first floor). Lilia Flower Boutique created the canopy of greenery for the ceremony and reception. The menu included local cheeses, bacon flights and Korean beef sliders, plus signature cocktails and plenty of Day Block beers. The trio of desserts included a traditional wedding cake, a macaron tower and a Norwegian kransekake. The couple opted to skip a receiving line so they could watch the sun set over the Minneapolis skyline. At the end of the day, their smile muscles got the best workout ever.
