A true testament to Athena and Tom’s strong bond could be what transpired on their first date. After meeting at a post-DECA high school dance, the two had planned a simple pizza and movie date. That is,  until Athena’s self-described “Big Fat Greek Family” took the opportunity to introduce themselves. Tom passed the family test that first night and the rest is history. After a dramatic proposal at Pittsburgh Blue, the two left no detail to chance. Fusing both Greek and Jewish traditions, as well as a South of France color palette, Tom and Athena carefully curated a space for their love that was so uniquely their own. They arranged for a session following the wedding party photos amidst the artwork, representing the two of them as artists as well. It was a traditional Jewish ceremony, though the Greek tradition of a bridesmaid adorning the couple’s heads with floral crowns was honored as well; crowns which were hand-picked by Athena’s mother in Greece. Athena’s dress, however, was not initially her style. One to never pick a ball gown, she took a chance and it happened to be dress she loved the most (Also note the subtly Grecian one-shouldered top.) The space was filled with cool-tone succulents and herbs, with a pop of gold sparkles to elevate the muted tones. Through it all, the two agree that their favorite moment of the day was first seeing each other at either end of the aisle.
