Wedding Date: September 21, 2019
Five years after Kate Lemke and Matt Preston began dating, Matt re-created their first date—relaxing on a hilltop, sharing a bottle of wine, reminiscing about their time together—then asked for her hand in marriage. Since Kate is a designer, having a cohesive look and feel throughout their big day was a must, and she even designed the typography for the programs and signage. The couple, who had envisioned a vintage vibe for the wedding, happened on the Capitol Room after looking at several other venues, and its unique industrial atmosphere felt like the perfect fit. The couple made a glamorously atypical entrance as they stepped out on a balcony above the main entrance, to the surprise and delights of guests. With the venue adorned in delicate, romantic florals in pale blues, light pinks and pops of burgundy, and a Polaroid camera guestbook, they created an enchanting evening full of memories. The couple even found time to sneak away to the bridal suite to savor a few quiet moments together as newlyweds.
