Twinkling Chandeliers and Lush Greenery Create Enchanting Garden Ambiance in Modern Wedding Day at The Whim

When on a college tour in 2014, Emma Blohowiak met her future husband, Eric Wagner, and they exchanged numbers, not knowing that after six years apart they would reconnect and fall in love. During their relationship, they shared a love of bringing friends and family together that would be reflected in their thoughtful and sophisticated wedding day at The Whim in Northeast Minneapolis. Opting for a design scheme that was seasonally fluid and undeniably romantic, shades of deep green with soft creams and blushes were intentionally woven throughout the bright autumn day. Eric in a handsome black tux and Emma in a simple strapless gown accented with a lace long-sleeved mockneck were the picture of classic elegance as they exchanged their vows at Our Lady of Grace. The modern, expansive space of The Whim was transformed into a warm, glowing haven, evoking a sense of enchanting intimacy. Soft glimmering chandeliers twinkled over the candlelit dining tables, hanging from verdant arches of greenery that made the large space feel both striking and inviting. Photos of their respective parents and grandparents on their wedding days were on display as loving inspiration, and Polaroid cameras served as a unique take on a guestbook, their loved ones snapping photos and leaving notes for the newlyweds as they sipped on the signature cocktails of the evening — espresso martinis and old fashioneds. Each moment of Eric and Emma’s wedding day enabled the couple not only to celebrate their love for each other but also to show appreciation for the love that surrounds them.
