From the photographer:
After eight months of dating, Brooke and Josh were engaged in October of 2017, and the wedding planning began! The handy couple did as many DIY things as possible: painting wooden wedding signs, wood-burning hangers for bridesmaid gifts, cutting and glossing cedar wood slices for centerpieces, arranging bulk orders of eucalyptus and roses into bouquets and reception decorations, and designing and printing their own invitations, ceremony programs, and dinner menus. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Brooke and Josh said their vows inside the pavilion overlooking Como Lake in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The wedding style presented an elegant chic look with a modern minimalist twist. The color palette was made up of light grey, silver sage, dusty blue, and touches of blush. The reception was held in Fridley, Minnesota at Banquets of Minnesota. The elaborate buffet dinner consisted of roast beef tenderloin with Beef Au Jus, garlic breadsticks, roasted baby red potatoes, buttered green beans, fruit and Caesar salad. The cake was a simple, one tier, red velvet cheesecake adorned with white chocolate shavings, a favorite of the bride’s. White and chocolate sheet cake with vanilla crème mousse was served to the 200 guests. The tables were covered in white linens and decorated with cedarwood, eucalyptus and willow garlands, loose greenery, white roses, and tiered glass vases with floating candles for a modern, romantic ambiance.
