When Hannah and Dave started the wedding planning process, the only option for the fun-loving couple was to tie the knot on New Year’s Eve. Choosing a venue was also easy, as the couple had called Northeast Minneapolis home for nearly three years and coincidentally learned The Whim was once home to a family business on Dave’s side. On their wedding day, Hannah wore a ravishing fit-and-flare gown, with bridesmaids in gold gowns of their choice, adhering to the holiday theme. Hannah and Dave each have one remaining grandmother, and it was especially meaningful to have them present, as well as for Dave’s Uncle Russ to officiate. The industrial-chic space was elegantly decorated in a palette of white, green and gold with neutral florals and greenery, while a canopy of string lights and glowing candles created a cozy ambience. “We liked how it was all laid-back but felt special and elevated for the holiday,” Hannah says. After “I do’s” the newlyweds stepped outside by themselves to pop a celebratory bottle of Champagne. When the clock struck midnight, Hannah, Dave and their 250 guests rang in the new year together—a magical moment, Hannah says.
