Gina Pitera and Christopher Lombardi dated on and off through college and into their 20s, taking different paths and living in different cities along the way. “But in the end,” Gina says, “all roads led us back to each other.” Although the couple currently lives in New Jersey, it was important to Gina to go back home to get married, and to give their out-of-town guests a taste of what makes Minnesota so grand. And what a taste they provided! Dorothy Ann Bakery, in addition to making the couple’s six-tier wedding cake, dished out an Italian dessert buffet with everything from cannoli to rum baba to tiramisu. The couple also featured a Minnesota State Fair-themed late-night snack buffet, complete with cheese curds and corndogs. Gina’s favorite part of the day, though, was her walk down the aisle with her father. “The raw emotion I felt when the doors of the church opened and my dad and I began our procession together down Assumption’s long aisle to Chris was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.”
