Congratulations, you’re engaged! It’s time for the next big question; where is the wedding going to be held? You’ll need a location that’s as equally awe-inspiring as it is accommodating. It should be versatile too, with plenty of lovely settings for photos, lots of space for guests, and an unforgettable ambience. A location that’s adaptable in design, is fit for both large and small groups, and provides top-of-the-line guest services.

Enter a duo of venues in one incredibly beautiful, serenely picturesque location at Bavaria Downs in Chaska - The Edward Anne Estate, set to open August 2018, and Equestria West, opening in 2019.

The Edward Anne Estate and Equestria West are both located on the Bavaria Downs property, a multi-venue campus on a private 270-acre estate, offering a truly spectacular setting for weddings large and small. With lush adult trees, a beautiful private lake and an abundance of natural greenery everywhere the eye can see, it’s an outdoor lover’s dream. Bavaria Downs is a combination of natural, rustic and modern, where old forests transport you back in time to the days when elegant carriages were led by majestic horses, and life was lived on a more even level with the land.

With that said, let’s dive right in to an overview of each brand new venue, shall we?

The Edward Anne Estate

From the moment you pass through the palatial gated entrance onto the private drive, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped off a plane and are no longer just minutes from the hustle and noise of Minneapolis. Lush, rolling hills beside meadows rich with wildflowers give way to acres of noble oak tree groves.

The raw and untouched natural beauty of the property is unparalleled, displaying the best that any Midwest landscape has to offer. Beyond the enchanting half mile drive, through the canopy of the stately oaks, the meticulously manicured rose gardens emerge. Tucked in quiet opulence, before its own private lake, lies The Edward Anne Estate.

A snapshot in time, the estate exudes old world European luxury. In authentic French Normandy style, at 26,000 square feet and boasting the nation’s only venue with a steam-shingled roof, The Edward Anne Estate is both elegant and majestic.

The stately home boasts raw earth elements that lend themselves to more masculine tastes, as well as light, open airy areas with soft details that lean toward the more feminine.

The lower level is entirely exposed rock and natural wood beams. Think of a dapper cigar lounge with dark leather furniture, billiards and swanky bar.

The name “Edward Anne” is a marriage of masculine and feminine in its own right and is reflective of the estate itself. The upper level has soaring ceilings, an abundance of natural light including a private glassed-in garden atrium with views of the property and the lake from every room. The details and finishes are elegant and luxurious. The main level of the home cohesively brings these two styles together into a grand and stately entertainment area.

Equestria West

Opening in 2019, Equestria West boasts classic Southern charm, comparable in ambiance to the Kentucky Derby with its mix of traditional elegance and country glamour. Whitewashed beams and regal cupolas are surrounded by winding white fences, well-manicured walkways, and flowering trees. Say farewell to the ordinary, with this rustic-yet-refined venue.

The romance and adventure of this enchanting property offers an amazing backdrop with which to plan your nuptials. Bistro lights are the order of the day and, with the prerequisite horses and carriages, you can recreate the Kentucky Derby scene without the fuss or mess. Bring your top-hats and tails if you like, or go for a more modern celebration, both will fit just fine.

Like The Edward Anne Estate, everyone who comes to celebrate at Equestria will also have access to Bavaria Downs, one of the most beautiful, natural settings in this part of the country, with outdoor activities that will most definitely keep everyone happy. Indoors you’ll be able to seat up to 400 of your closest friends and family, with modern amenities in a stunning rustic space. Outdoors doesn’t disappoint either and since Equestria is open year-round, you could even host a winter celebration and have a snow-covered blast (while still staying toasty warm indoors).

Think of Bavaria Downs as an oasis, a place to escape from the stress of daily life and get back to nature. You don’t have to travel far to enjoy the seclusion and serenity, and you won’t need a passport or compass to get there.
