In a space that seems more like New York or Paris, The Whim—which opened in Northeast Minneapolis in October — is a classic. Jennae Saltzman, owner of Blush & Whim Wedding Planning + Event Design, loved the history of the 1920s industrial space, and the remodeled venue now features white brick walls soaring to 14-foot ceilings and numerous picture windows to match the originals. With more than 10 years in the business, she created The Whim to provide clients the creative freedom to build their vision. Amenities include two getting-ready suites for small gatherings, two mixed-use rooms and a fabulous patio to supplement the larger space, which can comfortably accommodate 300-350 guests. (Another bonus: 80-plus parking spots.) The Whim has a stellar list of vendors to work with, but true to their client-focused mission, they welcome any vendor you might choose.
