Leave it to ace party people Common Roots Catering to breathe new life into the Blaisdell Manor. A south Minneapolis staple for more than a century, the Blaisdell is one of the finest—and biggest—examples of Georgian revival architecture around. Now after a modern refresh, it’s once again ready for its close-up.

Common Roots is best known for their modern take on American classics, which pretty much makes them the perfect catering partner and venue manager for this, well, American classic.

The Blaisdell will focus on making each event a unique and custom-tailored experience,” says Daria Kushnir, venue specialist for the Blaisdell. “It will be a space where clients can write their own story with the help and expertise of our hand-picked local vendors.”

Reopened in May, the Blaisdell houses an elegant ballroom with vaulted ceilings, a cozy parlor complete with fireplace and bay windows, a lounge for kicking back, and a luxurious suite perfect for beautifying before the big event. Larger parties will feel at home in the spacious ballroom, while the more intimate parlor is best for smaller cocktail receptions.
