Wedding: October 20, 2017
Ceremony & reception: Nicollet Island Pavilion, Minneapolis
Honeymoon: Europe
No pain, no (love) gain, right? Alexandra McDowell and Jordan Zauner first met in high school but didn’t get together until eight years later, when Jordan injured his shoulder and went to the physician Alexandra worked for. That hurt shoulder worked out pretty well for Jordan, as all that time together at the clinic led to a first date and eventually marriage. Their boho-romantic wedding involved tons of personal touches, like their sister-in-law singing as the bridal party walked down the aisle and a family friend officiating. There was a lot of fun, too; the couple talked their way into Betty Danger’s (where they had their first date and got engaged) and took a ride on the Ferris wheel. Alexandra’s dad made sure his daughter was ready for the non-stop action: “My family loves Father of the Bride, and we watched it a million times after our engagement. I kept hinting at wanting tennis shoes for the reception like in the movie. The night before the wedding, my dad gifted me a pair of sparkly white Keds. They were perfect,” she says.
A one of a kind Autumn wedding.
