Wedding: June 24, 2017
Ceremony & reception: Theodore Wirth Chalet, Golden Valley
Honeymoon: Yellowstone National Park
A mutual passion for running brought Ceri Billings and Jesse McCaffrey together, and the first date for the pair that loves to see the world on foot was a walk around Como Lake. Three years after that first date, Jesse proposed on a walk around the very same lake. Both nature lovers, Ceri and Jesse wanted their wedding to reflect their appreciation for the outdoors. The Theodore Wirth Chalet, among towering trees on a gorgeously landscaped golf course, captured their attention, but it was the breathtaking interior that stole their hearts: wood-beamed ceilings and dark wood, a greatroom and adjoining bar, and the focal-point grand fireplace. The setting exudes Old World charm, and Ceri and Jesse could easily envision their friends and loved ones settled in by the fire, enjoying a drink and sharing stories. The couple is happiest when they’re surrounded by close friends, so they kept their wedding intimate, with just 50 guests. That gave them the chance to pause and have a conversation with each guest—and see how many of their friends they could cram into the photo booth. Friends helped the couple create their special day as well. One baked the white wedding cake, another helped Ceri with the hand-lettering of invitations and place cards. Reflecting on their wedding, Ceri and Jesse think of the guests who attended and their own unique opportunity to celebrate with the wonderful people in their lives.
