An & Aaron: A Modern Vietnamese Wedding in Minneapolis

Real Wedding

Spring/Summer 2014

An Dao and Aaron Taylor dated for nine years before making it official at their modern, Vietnamese-influenced wedding. The couple wed at the Vietnamese Alliance Church, where many of An’s family and friends attend service. They hosted their reception at the Lucky Dragon, a local restaurant that was happy to tailor the 10-course meal (a mixture of Asian-American and traditional Vietnamese dishes) to the families’ tastes. It was that spirit of community that really stood out to the couple. “The highlight of the day was watching all of our friends and family help us pull the whole event off, from last-minute decorations to putting lights in all of the lanterns,” An says. “We had a perfect day, and we saw so many people work so hard to make that happen.”
