Wedding: September 23, 2016
Honeymoon: Cancun, Mexico
Megan Edman and Tyler Dahlen attended high school together, but got to know each other better as co-workers at Sammy Perrella’s Pizza & Restaurant. Years later, Tyler proposed on the third floor of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, with a view of the city behind them and many of their friends there for the surprise. The couple wanted a wedding of simplicity and beauty. The soaring ceiling and exposed beams of Bloom Lake Barn offered an elegant but unfussy setting, but the couple was most wowed by the natural beauty of the ceremony site and rustic charm of the barn. Mimi Coz, a friend of the bride, created the hand-lettered sign featuring the couple’s favorite verse from the Song of Solomon. Their simple cake was adorned with ivory roses and ruscus, set atop a mirrored cake stand that belongs to the bride’s mom. No one was sure if the flower girl and ring bearer would make it down the aisle before the bride and groom, since they both had a bit of stage fright during the rehearsal, but when the big moment came, they rose to the occasion beautifully. Another emotional moment came during the first look, when Megan and Tyler focused on the reason for the whole day—their love for one another.
