Sara & Rod: A Black and Gold Affair at the Former Graves Hotel

While I love seeing what new color trends each year holds (marsala is still going strong) there is just something about a classic color palette that brings so much class to a wedding celebration. Sara and Rod's black-clad bridal party is hard to beat, and offers so many styling options. My favorite aspect of this event is the consistency in styling and design. The bold patterns and color accents are represented throughout every inch of decor, from the invitation suite to the bride's reception shoes, the table linens and the cake too!

The styling and decor mesh perfectly with the couple's reception venue, the former Graves Hotel (newly rennovated and reopened as Loews Minneapolis, this space is more beautiful than ever). The photos in a lovely downtown alley are especially charming, adding an urban, even Parisian-feeling element to this gorgeous pair's big day.

From the photographer:

Modern black, white pink, and gold glitter, trendy decor by Sarah Trotter with Lasting Impressions. Ceremony at Northwestern Chapel and Reception at Graves 601 Hotel. What I love about this wedding: gorgeous couple, and brilliant styling by Sarah with consistent pattern and signage used throughout from invitations, signage, flower girl dresses, and reception decor. This couple was definitely not afraid to be bold and very on trend with everything, which I loved! I thought it fit the modern venue very well.
