With their eco-friendly sensibility and chic design, Velvet Raptor artisan photo albums, journals and cards are quickly becoming a favorite of local brides. Created by Twin Cities photographer Adrienne Page, the beautifully whimsical books are made of high-quality archival materials and sewn at a local bindery, boasting lush, part-silk velvet covers. They’re made green, too, thanks to 100-percent post-consumer-waste paper that’s SmartWood certified (it’s from reclaimed wood that was safely harvested) and milled with wind power. All Velvet Raptor books, cards and boxes are assembled using completely recycled book-board and non-toxic glue.
“I conceived this product line years ago when I was having a hard time finding an album for my portfolios to best represent my style,” explains Page. “I created a velvet album with both enduring beauty and lasting construction that was different from others on the market.” The luxurious albums have now been picked up by national companies including BHLDN, and are sold locally at Mara-Mi, Martha’s Gardens, l’atelier couture bridal, Che Bella and on the company’s website.
