Katie Wertheim and Jeremy Iacarella, who met in law school at the University of St. Thomas, wanted a wedding venue that was minimalist but unique. They immediately fell in love with the magnificent architecture and stunning city views of the Walker Art Center’s Skyline room. Katie drew wedding inspiration from works in the Walker collection—particularly the Color Field paintings—offsetting the white reception space with brightly colored, monochromatic flowers. They also used images of some of their favorite pieces from the Walker’s collection to mark each table, in lieu of numbers. Katie credits her mom and sister for helping her bring her vision to life and creating the perfect day. “I will always remember the way my wedding day felt,” Katie says. “There aren’t many occasions when you get to gather all of those who are dear to you in one place. That was certainly a highlight.”
