Floral arrangements—from bouquets to hanging installations—have bloomed into a new trend: wired florals. “Wiring the flowers gives you an interesting way to make things more artful and beautiful,” explains Jeni Becht of Green Goddess Floral. Becht was inspired by the dynamic purple hue of spotted orchids and a beautiful linen from Après Event Dècor and Tent Rental. To showcase the versatility of this sculpting trend, Becht designed a variety of pieces, including a stunning wired bouquet with dripping amaranthus.
The tablescape adds an elegant flair to the trend-forward ambiance with textured glass chimneys and lavender ribbed votives. Above, floral chandeliers are delicately draped in moss, amaranthus and calla lilies. Hey There Cupcake brought sweetness to the tableau with two stunning confections. The purple-hued cake is verdant with blooms thanks to the wired spine piece that easily conforms to the cake and creates movement. The towering geometric cake adds an avant-garde moment with a variety of shapes crowned by a classic white bust and a cascade of florals. Says Becht, “The mix of structure and softness creates a striking, modern look, making it an ideal centerpiece for a sophisticated event.”
