From the Bride:
We wanted a winter wedding that felt magical- the calmness of snow, the warmth of candles, and the stately beauty of the Calhoun Beach Club. However, we didn’t want any of the stuffiness that can sneak in with elegance. Our aim was a roll up your pants, kick off your shoes, and dance till you can’t, mentality. Live music was on the top of our list of must-haves; we decided to go with four bands. Jillian, the bride, proclaimed that she couldn’t afford to be away from the dance floor long enough to bustle her dress.
Out of numerous venues visited, the Calhoun Beach Club was the only one that had everything we were looking for. The Beach Club beams rich character- from the large arched windows, to the elegant chandeliers, to the parquet wood floors- the rooms speak for themselves. D’amico catering holds a strong reputation for high level of professional service, and the beautiful food they provide is simply delicious. Lastly, on our must-have list was a strong photographer. We heard too many tearful stories of remorse over wedding photographs. Mark Mirocha captured our spirit, as you’ll see, and he was a treat to work with.
