Tamara & Todd: A Blizzardy Winter Wedding on the North Shore of Minnesota

They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, so Tamara Steimer and Todd Peterson must be in for extra good fortune since it snowed on theirs. The couple, who has worked together for seven years, expected a little snow—but not the blizzard that they got. They thought about moving the ceremony indoors, but guests encouraged them to stick to their outdoor plan. Blankets, hand warmers, and a hot chocolate and coffee bar warmed everyone up for the snowy lakeside ceremony. Then they headed into the Surfside on Superior for a reception full of dancing, accompanied by a late-night snack of the couple’s favorite meal: bacon and eggs. “The ultimate highlight has to be dancing our first dance to a piano version of ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon,” Tamara says. “Towards the end, all the guests were singing the song to us.”
