Annie Potish and Jared Spencer met in a college biology class, where they were often paired up as lab partners. That led to becoming real-life partners, and eventually to their summer wedding. Although the couple currently lives in Chicago, it was important to Annie to go back home to Minnesota to get married. “It’s where I’m from, and St. Paul is a very special place to me,” she says. They chose the St. Paul College Club because of its charm and history, not to mention its picturesque garden. “We appreciated the timeless, simple elegance of the venue, and we thought the garden was a lovely spot for the ceremony and for mingling during the reception.” In addition to making a lush backdrop for wedding pictures, the garden was a fun cocktail hour setting for guests, especially with the custom bean-bag toss equipment that Annie’s brother made as a wedding gift.
