While designing their wedding and celebration alongside an expert team of vendors, college sweethearts Lindsey Mortensen and Brendan Fitzpatrick set out to create a minimalist wedding with maximum color. From the get-go, the invitation suite reflected their bold personalities with its fun yellow and white design. The stunning architecture and interior of the American Swedish Institute provided elegance and grandeur, while the venue’s muted tones made the florals held by Lindsey and each of her bridesmaids—who wore gowns to match their bouquet hue—stand out. Hanging from the ceiling of Larson Hall was a jaw-dropping, monochromatic yellow floral display—the first ever large floral installation held in the Hall—that guided the bride down the aisle toward pillars of even more yellow arrangements. This bright and fresh design choice brought a breath of summer air to the fall day. At the reception, the wedding party sat at the head table beneath a grand installation of blooms while an ombré of yellow, orange and pink florals stretched its way down the table. Every guest table was adorned with small arrangements of a variety of stems, separated by color into white vases. The remainder of the tablescape design was kept simple and neutral, allowing the bright centerpieces to pop. Sipping on lemon cocktails, attendees joined Brendan and Lindsey—who had changed into her second dress of the evening—on the dance floor before dancing the night away.
