Meta Pautsch and Jon Thomas’s relationship has been full of meaningful and serendipitous connections. “When we first met, JT sold crayons and I was an art teacher—an undeniably perfect combination,” Meta says. They chose the bride’s family farm as the location for the wedding because they wanted a laid-back barn wedding; when they learned that the summer they were planning to marry would mark exactly 100 years since Meta’s great-grandmother married on that same farm, they knew it was kismet. The couple decorated the barn
with handmade quilts from both families, as well as Meta’s great-grandmother’s wedding dress. After the ceremony, the avid bikers took a ride on their cruiser bikes and lit off a single firework, “so that we could start our marriage off with a bang,” Meta says. “His wonderfully cheesy idea!”
