With the changing of leaves and the onset of fall, wedding color palettes tend to go a little darker and become a little more rich in hue. I, for one, adore the shades of deep burgundy and emerald green that start to emerge, not to mention the glimmery metallic details that usually accompany them. This special styled shoot at the historic and stately Glensheen Mansion is saturated with just such gorgeous pigments, and the results are magical. Whether planning your event for fall or the dead of winter these images are sure to offer just the inspiration you've been looking for.

Minnesota Mystery: Vivid Colors, Treasured Relics, Contemporary Style

Getting married in Duluth, Minnesota isn’t for sissies. On Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world, fog and cold wind rolls in without warning. But for couples with a taste for risk, brisk spring weather and natural elements, this Northern city offers qualities of Gothic mystery and vivid color.

One of Minnesota’s epic wedding venues, Glensheen, hugs Superior’s western shore in Duluth. Built a century ago by iron ore baron Chester Congdon for his wife Clara, Glensheen’s seven acres include a private beach, stables, and a 39 room mansion now owned by the University of Minnesota. The formal terraced garden and English style landscape give way to rugged shoreline, with just a hint of the dark tales and ghosts rumored of in the mansion’s history.
